Laguna Sirven Project

The Laguna Sirven project, located in the center-north of the Deseado Massif, covers an area of 16294 ha, and is secured by seven mining concessions. Fomicruz has explored this project for Uranium in association with CNEA (the National Atomic Energy Commission of Argentina).

Systematic radiometric surveys in the Laguna Sirven project led to the definition of a superficial anomaly with northwest-southeast trend. Then, 133 trenches were opened and sampled, to determine depth, thickness and grade of a U-rich layer. That layer constitutes a shallow, low grade uranium deposit, hosted in unconsolidated gravels, and associated with carbonates (“caliche”) and some gypsum. The deposit shows concentrations of uranium normally ranging from 70 to 200 g/t, and locally reaching 400 g/t.
